Community Reporting in the Estonian Pilot of CoSIE
In Estonia, the stories that were gathered were from residents of Voru, with a specific focus on gathering the stories of adults with disabilities from the area. The stories gathered focused on what life was like in a rural community, covering three key topic areas: (1) nature, (2) activities and people, and (3) challenges of living in a rural community. You can access the stories here.
In the Estonian pilot, there was one main purposes for utilising the Community Reporting methodology:
An insight tool: To gather and curate insight stories about people’s experiences of life in a rural setting. This provided the pilot with an understanding of different groups of residents’ understanding of life in their area and a qualitatively, largely asset-driven mapping of their needs.
[It has been] extremely useful it is to encourage people to express their problems and describe their lives.
